The claim was denied. According to the Choice Home Warranty technician the claim was denied for multiple reasons all of which the technician tried to assure the claim adjuster were NOT the reasons for the failure. Choice Home Warranty advised me they would consider a second opinion by a licensed pool company and the total cost of inspection and opinion must be borne by me. I did that. The second company affirmed the opinion of the initial company. The claim was still denied. When I requested on numerous occasions for a written denial I finally received a statement claiming they denied the claim due to "lack of routine maintenance. " That is not the reason for the failure and can be certified by the two pool companies. I must note that the VERBAL reasons for denial and the WRITTEN reason are ALL DIFFERENT. I was looking at these services because we had to call out an electrician for an issue in our home, and the tech told us was $60. 00 just for being called out, and $245. It took four times before he finally ordered the part, but when they were ordering the part they sent somebody different to make sure it was that part that needed to be done.
